Week 3: Turkish Travels

Merhaba (Hello) from Turkey!

As is the Turkish custom, the kids were welcomed with a cup of apple tea. Then, after talking a little about this interesting country, we headed down to the kids' kitchen to whip up some hummus. It was delicious!

Everyone enjoying the hummus they made.
(Instead of saying "cheese" for the photo, the kids are all saying, "Turkey!")

After our snack, we learned about the Turkish tradition of protecting against the "evil eye," and made our own amulets.
Charlie giving us the "evil eye."
Special thanks to Julia, one of our awesome class assistants:

I had a great time with your kids! Looking forward to traveling to South America next week when we visit Peru.
